How about just being debt free? Or even being completely debt free except for your monthly house payment?
There are lots of people talking about this these days. It IS possible with a lots of hard work, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and netflix instead of "theatre goings" It CAN be done!
And with so many people losing their homes and going bankrupt, maybe this can be a new goal as they start their lives over again. We certainly have, at the very least, learned the value of savings accounts and house payments that are within our means.
Let's become great examples once again for our children and teach them through these hard times how to manage money wisely!
The American Dream can still be owning a home, but our high debt surely needs to be brought down to levels that can be managed and paid off in short periods of time. Let's use our personal resources wisely! Joanie
